I find most management advice inspiring but impractical.
Long on ideas but short on execution.
And action is the only path I know to impact.
Ironically, most management advice is written to the CEO. It’s ironic because they are the most seasoned managers, the most supported managers, and the managers with the most power.
Meanwhile, new managers are largely ignored. Only 15% get any training whatsoever. And what little advice they get expands the list of things they could do rather than zeroing in on exactly what they should.
It has been my mission to fix that.
Today’s playbook is no exception.
It’s the shortest playbook I’ve written to date.
It’s also the longest if you follow it.
But I firmly believe that if you pour yourself a cup of coffee and take 90 minutes to work through this map step-by-step, you’ll see management with new clarity.
